I heard someone once say… “when you sense a faint potentiality for happiness after such dark times you must grab onto the ankles of that happiness and not let go until it drags you face-first out of the dirt. This is not selfishness, but obligation. You were given life; it is your duty to find something beautiful within life no matter how slight.“
Or something to that effect.
I have found that finding beauty in the little things is actually not such little thing after all, the effect the beauty of God’s creation has on one’s soul is quite significant, and restorative(and anyone who disagrees with that, you should take a look at Rob Bell’s Everything Is Spiritual) Saturday night a very wise man said that God is every where, His presence is always there…
but sometimes,
just like Jacob (Genesis 28:16) we don’t always realize it. The beautiful things remind me God is ever present, His smile is reflected in the smiles of the beautiful children He created in His image. His laugher echoes throughout the world through our us. & even our tears, because I do think there is something so beautiful about being broken, remind me just how amazing He is.
I saw somewhere this past week someone say, “He told me He was sorry for something you did to me…….what a wonderful Father.” There is something indescribably beautiful to me about God apoligzing, and healing wounds He never caused.
Life is beautiful.
&
I love, falling in love with life.
